According to information provided by Ukrainian media and Polish sources, Marek Rusek-Wolski was killed on July 27 in Kharkiv as a result of a Russian drone strike. The information about his death was also confirmed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He died while helping the residents of Ukraine
The first information about the death of Marek Rusek-Wolski appeared on July 30 on the Facebook profile of the initiative “Together for Ukraine”, which he co-created and led. The statement reported that the volunteer died a few days earlier – around July 27 – during his stay in Kharkiv as a result of a Russian drone attack.
After the tragedy, his loved ones appealed for help in determining the location of his temporary stay in order to recover his personal belongings.
For years he supported residents of war-affected areas
Since 2023, Marek Rusek-Wolski regularly organized humanitarian trips to Ukraine. He reached places where help was needed most – towns located near the front line, primarily in the Kharkiv region and the Kupiansk area.
He delivered food, hygiene products, medicines, blankets, pet food, and other essential items. Each mission was funded through fundraisers and donor support, emphasizing that the aid goes directly to people living in the war zone.
In recent months, his activities went beyond delivering humanitarian aid. He also took part in evacuating the bodies of civilians who were killed as a result of Russian shelling.
In one of his posts, he described that after transporting the victims to a safe place, residents of nearby towns knelt by the roadside and threw flowers in front of the convoy, thus paying tribute to the dead.
This was the everyday reality of a man who chose to help where the war takes the greatest toll. His work became a symbol of solidarity and selfless support for the people of Ukraine.
