According to investigators, an 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen attacked a 30-year-old Polish woman with a knife. The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

As reported by the Polish Press Agency (PAP), the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław has charged the 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen with attempted murder. According to investigators, the man stabbed the 30-year-old woman multiple times in the neck and chest area.
Prosecutor Jakub Dłubacz stated that the suspect did not admit to the alleged act and refused to give explanations. Findings so far also indicate that the perpetrator and the victim did not know each other previously.
For attempted murder, the 18-year-old faces a sentence of 10 years in prison up to life imprisonment.
According to neighbors, the drama unfolded within just a few moments. First, residents heard a loud noise coming from the stairwell. One woman looked through the peephole and saw a man struggling with the 30-year-old. Only after a moment did she realize that the attacker was stabbing her with a knife.

As reported by fakt.pl: When the neighbor opened the apartment door, the perpetrator allegedly fled the building. Residents immediately notified the services, and until the ambulance arrived they tried to keep the seriously injured woman conscious.
Witnesses say the victim had wounds around the neck and chest and was bleeding heavily. In their opinion, the police and ambulance arrived very quickly, but the wait for the paramedics felt extremely long.
– When the paramedics put her on a stretcher, she was very pale and had her eyes closed. We were afraid she wouldn’t survive – reported one of the neighbors in an interview with “Gazeta Wrocławska”.
The Ukrainian consulate commented on the attack on a Polish woman in Wrocław, calling for respect for the law and accountability for crimes.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław published an official statement after the brutal attack that took place in Wrocław. As a result of the incident, a 30-year-old Polish citizen was seriously injured, and the police detained an 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of attempted murder.
In the statement, the consulate expressed regret over the incident and strongly condemned all manifestations of violence and aggression.
– We strongly condemn all manifestations of violence and aggression, regardless of who is the perpetrator and who is the victim. Anyone who commits a crime should be held accountable in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Poland – it was emphasized in the statement.
Representatives of the institution also reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale war, millions of Ukrainian citizens have received enormous support and solidarity in Poland. They emphasized that every Ukrainian citizen staying in Poland is obliged to comply with Polish law, respect local traditions and social norms, and take care of good relations between nations.
The consulate pointed out that the vast majority of Ukrainians living in Poland are people who work honestly, study, and pay taxes, and that individual crimes cannot lead to stigmatizing the entire Ukrainian community.
At the same time, the institution appealed to Ukrainian citizens to strictly observe the law, show respect to Poles, and avoid any behavior that could harm Polish-Ukrainian relations.
In conclusion, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław expressed sympathy for the injured woman, wishing her a speedy recovery, and declared trust in the Polish law enforcement authorities to thoroughly and impartially clarify all the circumstances of the case.

As reported by Gazeta Wrocławska, the 30-year-old woman who was stabbed in Wrocław has left the hospital. The injured woman was admitted to the 4th Military Clinical Hospital in Wrocław in serious condition and underwent surgery. Initially, doctors described her condition as severe, but over time it began to improve. On Monday, the facility confirmed that the patient had been discharged home.
